I read somewhere that an artist paints because he has to.

"I started out as a child" (Bill Cosby). Living in poverty in a decaying New England mill town, I drew on the ground with sticks, etched the frost on the windows of our drafty, dilapidated attic apartment, and created images on steamed-up windows with my finger. We didn't have enough money for food, clothing, or heat, so art supplies were out of the question.

I won my first art award at the age of 15. The prize was a gift certificate to an art supply store. A door opened and there was light on the other side. Drawn as a moth to a flame, I wound up on Cape Cod, where the light is beautiful at sunrise and sunset; in fog, rain, and snow; and in moonlight and starlight.

I am graduating from Cape Cod Community College in May 2008 with an Associates of Arts degree in graphic design. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, due to my CGPA of 3.8. I'm hoping to earn my Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology at UMass Lowell next, where I will learn even more about web design and computers in general.
