A common mistake made by beginners is designing their logo using a raster image. If you are thinking of creating your own company logo, be sure to use a vector graphics program, such as Adobe Illustrator. When sending it out to advertisers for printing purposes, send it as an Adobe PDF file, with all fonts embedded, for best results (unless your printer requests another file format). Never use Microsoft Office products for professional design work. If you can't afford Adobe Illustrator, consider using the free, open source, Inkscape. Corel Draw is another good option, but it's somewhat expensive. I prefer Adobe Illustrator.
